1. Running and Bikes Trails
Come explore the vast Madison County Transit (MCT) Trails system and experience more than 85 miles of scenic Madison County bikeways. Whether you bike, walk, rollerblade or jog, the MCT Trails system offers a safe and healthy recreation and transportation option for trailgoers of all ages.
2. Disc Golf Course
The SIUE 9-Hole Disc Golf Course is officially open to the SIUE community. All members of the SIUE community are invited to take advantage of the new Disc Golf Course located south of Prairie Hall. The course’s first tee is near the Sand Volleyball court. There is no charge to use the course. Players may use their own discs (Frisbees) or check one out at either the front desk of Prairie Hall or the Equipment Issue counter at the Student Fitness Center. Parking for the course is limited, so players may have to park elsewhere and walk to the course.
Serve it up with a game of volleyball at our various locations here in Edwardsville. On-campus, there are two volleyball courts available at Cougar Village Apartments and Prairie Hall. Located off-campus at Hoppe Park, there is also a volleyball court at 1200 W High St, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
Enjoying an adventure every time you visit. Knowing a discovery will be made around each corner. You’re at the Saint Louis Zoo, a get-away destination that brings together more than 19,000 wild animals and 3,000,000 visitors each year. Located on 90 acres in beautiful Forest Park, the Zoo is home to 655 species of animals, many of them rare and endangered. It is one of the few free zoos in the nation.
5. S’Mores Workshop
Come join Outdoor Recreation with the S’Mores Workshop. This activity will take place on April 3rd at 6:00 pm located at Marina/Pavilion. Curious to how many ways you can make S’Mores? This workshop will demonstrate 15 different ways to create your own S’Mores and it’s FREE. DON’T MISS IT!
Under $10 Activities
1. Cougar Lake Campout
Outdoor Recreation is hosting a camping opportunity for SIUe students, family and friends. On March 30th – 31st you can come enjoy a campfire and outdoor experience at Marina/Pavilion. If this camping experience is of any interest to you, please register by March 26th at the Student Fitness Center front desk. There will be a $10 fee per family. Any additional questions can be answered by emailing email@example.com.
2. St. Louis Arch
The nation’s tallest monument at 630 feet, the Gateway Arch has beckoned visitors for more than 40 years with its iconic, awe-inspiring shape. The vision of renowned architect Eero Saarinen, the Gateway Arch commemorates Thomas Jefferson and St. Louis’ role in the westward expansion of the United States. A visit to St. Louis isn’t complete without standing at its base and playing professional photographer, and the view from the outside is only half of the experience. Cost for adults (ages 16 and up) is $10 and children (ages 3 to 15) is $5.
3. Edison’s Entertainment Complex
COMING SOON! Edison’s is an exciting new entertainment complex that will provide a surge of adrenaline for all who plug in. Edison’s features 12 lanes of boutique bowling (lights, 12’ high projection screens, leather couches), a state of the art laser tag arena, arcade, restaurant, lounge, frozen yogurt bar, party rooms and more.
